The other day, dad sent us some chocolates. And together with the package is a flyer about a scholarship in Singapore. I have browsed their website and I'm really interested about it. The offer is great, actually. Once you get admitted, they'll give you an annual allowance of $2,200 which is about Php 72,000 here in the Philippines. (That's a lot of money!) Plus, they will be responsible for the accommodation which includes the boarding house and lodging stuff, and the plane tickets.
What's bugging me is that once I get admitted there, I will leave on December, this year.
What about my Senior year being a high school student? It will be put to a stop. What about my friends? Of course, it will be a whole lot place once I move there in Singapore. I will never get to experience having a prom; but in my school, it's graduation ball. I will never get to experience the stress during the thesis-making days. I will miss all the fun that there will be during the graduation practices. And of course, I will never experience graduating as a Senior student. That feeling when your name gets called and as you stand up, there will be a huge flashback - all the fun things and trials that you've been in your high school days. And all of those, will be left behind as you move further in the future.
I've started to talk to my friends, about making the decision. I will also consult my parents.
I shouldn't have worries, though, when I get admitted there. Because I have relatives that live in Singapore. If I say yes, my future will change - for the better. But I will definitely miss home - my family, friends, and the life that I've been used to since I was a kid.
Love,
Ina
